‘OVER’ by Pino is a soulful and emotional track that explores the pain of a betrayed love. Pino sings to an inconsistent lover (‘making promises that you can’t keep, don’t make ‘em in the first place’), whilst being accompanied and enriched by a blend of synths and impactful drums, blending ambient production with heart-wrenching, anecdotal lyrics. These saturated and layered vocals, blended with a spacey, synth-driven production create a contemporary and dynamic version of R&B, offering a welcome contribution to the already distinctive space in Toronto's music scene. This soulful single was an inter-city collaboration between rising Canadian artists and producers, as well as one valuable contributor from the other side of the world. Lyrics and melody were co-written alongside rising Winnipeg local and fellow artist Maz B, with production handled by Norwegian producer typhon, and Toronto producer ChapoYaga. The song was co-produced and recorded out of Pino’s home studio, and mixed and mastered by himself.
